A visionary leader and an eminent businessman, Ulf Ekberg has been a Co-Founding partner of ACO Investment Group, a US based Private Equity Firm, focused on business development, deal sourcing and government relations while also possessing domain expertise in the Media and Technology sectors.  


While Ulf spent nineteen years at the top of the music industry as an artist, producer, song writer, founder and front-man of pop phenomenon Ace of Base, it was his passion and track record for helping businesses grow and operating in global markets that attracted him to focus more on executive board level operations.  While a rock star in his own right, Ulf helped drive the business success of his band.  Ace of Base still holds the world record for the most selling debut album of all time called Happy Nation (The Sign), which sold over 23 million records and went gold and platinum in over 50 countries.  Ace of Base has sold over 50 million records worldwide and released their last hit album in 2010.  In 1993, Ace of Base was ranked first for six weeks on Billboards single and album list with The Sign and sold, as the only non-American band ever, diamond with the album. 1993 they where nominated in the USA for 3 Grammy Awards, won 2 American Music Awards, 2 Billboard Awards and 8 World Music Awards.

 

Ulf is also the reason for the founding of Result, which was formed in 1999. Utilizing his extensive contacts from the music industry, Ulf took a leading role in the development of a range of companies operating in the TIME sector and helped them grow in their local market, regionally and globally.  Result’s clients include McDonalds, Sonera, Telenor, BMW, Fiat, SAS, Google, IBM, LinkedIn, Xing, SBS, SISTEMA and Philips.  Result has offices in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  Ulf has been a Senior Partner and Executive Director of the fashion brand J.Lindeberg in Asia and owned several stores between 2001 and 2008.  Between 2002 and 2005, Ulf was an advisor to Nokia on their global Music and Fashion strategy.  From 1999 till 2002, Ulf was a senior advisor to the Wallenberg family owned bank SEB and its €40m investment in the Volvo Ocean Race, Team SEB.

 

In February 2002, Ulf founded one the first leading Entertainment Marketing companies in Europe called Legion Network, with clients like Canon, Motorola, SEB, Alfa Romeo, TUI/Thomson Travel and Nokia.  From 1998 till today, Ulf has been a Senior Partner and Executive Director of G Four Ventures which serves as advisor to a number of important organizations and industry groups focusing on sectors in which it has demonstrated expertise namely: aerospace, green-tech, energy & power, industrial, real estate, technology & business services, finance and telecommunications & media in countries such as United States of America, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, India and China.


He rose steadily and steered his organizations and businesses through a strategic and visionary turnaround, involving resilience and restructuring, ensuring that his Group of Companies attained dominant status in key operating sectors.


 

Ulf currently sit on the Advisory Board and is the Head of Global Relationships to Serendipity Innovations and it's holding companies including Diamorph, where they create new innovative companies based on leading academic research. They do this in conjunction with world-leading scientists (several Nobel Committee scientists among others), skilled entrepreneurs and by working closely with potential customers to ensure that the products and services developed meet the actual market demand and requirements. 


Ulf and Serendipity’s key success factor has been the ability to reduce the gap between research and enterprise, or rather, scientists and entrepreneurs. They build effective teams with key competences, complementary skills and personalities, and provide them with effective tools and processes for building valuable companies. 


Ulf has been heavily involved to successfully build bridges between Sweden and India, China and The United States for many companies.


Ulf is also a part of The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) Asia Program Think-Tank. This Think-Tank convenes officials, intellectuals, members of the media, and business representatives from India, China, the United States, and Europe four times a year for intimate conversations on shared political, social, and economic objectives as well as the implications of India and China’s rise for the transatlantic community. Further key issues discusses, are major global concerns: world trade, market access, climate change, and national security. The GMF Think-Tank addresses the implications of Asia's rise for the West through research and commentary, conferences, study tours to Asia, publications, and collaborations with other GMF programs. Covering an expansive area — from the Hindu Kush to the Pacific — the program has region-wide projects as well as specific initiatives related to China, India, Japan, Pakistan, and Korea. The Think-Tank is well equipped to organize regular policy-relevant interactions between the transatlantic community and India and China. The program benefits from GMF’s extensive network of contacts on both sides of the Atlantic and beyond, and from its tradition of high-level convening involving U.S. and European policymakers.

Ulf is an advisor to several Film and Media Groups, Gaming and Gambling Companies, The World Cup Match Racing Tour, RC44, Cape North, Eco Energy and BusinessWeek Magazine.  

In addition, Ulf advises developing country-centric non-profits focusing on some of the most persistent global problems, including nature conservation; poverty; and entrepreneurial training for third world. He is working with organizations like IUCN, WWF, Red Cross and Save the Children.


Ulf lives in Stockholm, Sweden and has three children.
